From seeing the Eiffel Tower to Versailles, our honeymoon started in the most magical way.
We had always dreamed of going to Paris and that made our Honeymoon that much more special. From the moment that we arrived, the city has such a wonderful energy and made us feel like we had picked the right place to go. It was beautiful, romantic and full of life.
When we first arrived after our long 7.5 hour flight, we were very tired, but we knew that we wanted to get out and explore. We put our bags away and explored we did with the little energy that we had. We walked along the waters edge and saw the beautiful Eiffel Tower standing there in the distance. It was really a beautiful sight to see. You always see photos and videos online, but once you are in person you feel like you are in a whole other world.
Our First Moments in the City
There is something very special about walking through Paris. You really feel like you are taking a step back in time and entering into this magical world. The streets, the little cafes on each corner, it felt like you were in a movie set with how perfect everything was.
There was a lot of security in place as the day we arrived was the day before the national holiday know as “Bastille Day” which takes place on July 14th. The preparations for the festivities were incredible to see the work that goes into a celebration of such greatness.
We traveled to Paris and the first meal that we enjoyed was Burger King. With all the different places that we could have gone to eat, we simply went to a fast food restaurant to have food.
It was an early night as we were very tired from our travels, so we settled into our wonderful hotel which was located on the Champs-Elysees, but before we could call it a night we had to take some wonderful pictures of the Arc De Triomphe with the sun setting in the background. This marked a wonderful start to our trip together.
As the sun set behind the Arc de Triomphe, the whole street lit up with this golden glow. It was one of those moments that didn’t feel real.
After seeing that wonderful sunset, it was time to head to bed before the intense day of festivities awaited us the following day.
